Lady Bears Fall In District Volleyball Tournament Monday

The 2015 varsity volleyball season ended Monday night in the first round of the Class 2, District 9 tournament at Cabool. Ava entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed and faced Houston in the first round. The Lady Bears took game 2 to a 26-24 loss after losing the first set 25-17. Houston lost to Mtn. View-Liberty in the semifinals and Cabool defeated Willow Springs 2-1 to advance to the championship match, which Liberty won 2-0. Liberty will now play Strafford on Saturday as the championship tournament continues. The Lady Bears played Willow Springs here last Wednesday night and lost to the Willow Bears in two sets, 16-25, 21-25.
