Mt. Tabor Hosted 59th Annual ‘Old Folks Day’

Mt. Tabor Church was host for the 59th Annual Old Folk’s Day, Sunday, Sept. 13. There was a large crowd in attendance, and began with Brother Raymond Haden, pastor of the church, welcoming the group and having prayer. He also led the singing of Amazing Grace.

We had a large number of folks with readings, poems, songs, as well as, giving their remembrances of times past at Mt. Tabor Church. It was a wonderful time, with much laughter, fun and some tears. Brother Martin Hathcock had a great number of his family present, and was honored by many there.

The church gave gifts to the oldest man, Johnny Stephens, runner up, Martin Hathcock, oldest lady, Wilma Hathcock Mielke, runner-up, Chestene Lietch, man with birthday, Raymond Haden, and lady, Imogene Madewell.

Some gifts were given, also, for Grandparent’s Day.

We appreciate everyone that made this wonderful day possible, those who gave handmade gifts, the participants, and all who came. We hope to see you all next year, the second Sunday in September.
