Ava Saddle Club

Our July Fun Show will be held this Saturday July 11th. Remember we’ll be having a later start time because of the heat. Sign up time will be 5:00 p.m. and show time will be 6:00 p.m. Series point leaders so far are:

Pee-Wee – Sammie Jo Walker, Youth 10-14 – Jess Stafford, Youth 15-19 – Kelsey Dietz, Adult – Rebecca Turcott.

On Saturday July 18th we will host the Douglas County Foxtrotting Horse Breeders Association show. There will be foxtrotting classes along with open classes for barrels, tunnel race, poles and trail. There will also be payback up to 5th place and high-point and reserve cash awards. This show is a point show for the Missouri Foxtrotting Horse Breeders Association and a triple point show for the Southwest Missouri Horse Show Association. We’ll be hosting the Sho-Me Horse Show Association’s Versatility Ranch Horse show on July 25th as long as the weather is good. Classes include Ranch Cutting, Working Cow, Reining, Ranch Pleasure and Trail. There are divisions for Open, Amateur, Novice, two youth divisions and a gaited division. Payback in all classes. We will be donating a basket to the silent auction at Heart of The Hills’ firework extravaganza to be held on Friday night July 10th. It will contain lots of equestrian related items and a 1 year membership to the Saddle Club.

Don’t forget the Tri-County Youth show is coming up on August 22nd. We’ll have more information on that later.

Our next regular monthly meeting will be on August 3rd at 7:30 at the club grounds, ½ mile west of the intersection of Hwy. 5 and Hwy. 14. Come on out and join us.
