Lawrence “Larry” Heatherly

Lawrence  Eugene Heatherly, 84 years, passed to heaven on Dec. 31, 2014 at Country Living Assisted Living Center in Mtn. Grove, Mo.
Larry was born March 17, 1930 in Ava, Mo., to Dewey and Alice (Bullard) Heatherly.
In 1953 Larry and Nadine Hodges were united in marriage and to this union four children were born.
Larry had been living in Mtn. Grove, Mo., for the past few years moving from Ava. He retired from International Harvester in East Moline, Ill. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean War from 1951 to 1952. Larry was a Christian. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hiking and making crafts for children.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter; one sister, Deloris; and a granddaughter, Sonya.
Larry is survived by Nadine; four children; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Heatherly; one sister, Helen Hackworth; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Larry were held Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at noon, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Ava Cemetery with military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112. Visitation was Monday from  11 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating was Chaplain Roger Flint. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus of Mtn. Grove.
