Filing Begins Next Tuesday For April 7 Elections
Filing will open next Tuesday for positions to be filled at the April 7 elections next spring.
School board members, city aldermen and mayor, and board seats with the Douglas County Health Department and Ava Area Ambulance District are among those to be elected.
Ava R-1 School District, Skyline R-2 School District, and Plainview R-8 School District, all in Douglas County, as well as Dora School District in Ozark County and Bradleyville School District in Taney County have announced they will each be electing two school directors for three-year terms.
In the City of Ava, residents will be electing a mayor this year as well as two aldermen, one from the East Ward and one from the West Ward. All three positions hold two-year terms.
The Douglas County Health Department will be electing two board members to four-year terms, and the Ava Area Ambulance District will elect two directors to three-year terms.
The Ambulance District will elect one board member from District No. 1 which includes Findley, Miller and Boone townships; and one from District No. 4 which involves Benton Township east of Highway 5 and north of Highway 14.
Candidates for the Health Department and the Ambulance District will file at the office of County Clerk Karry Davis, in the courthouse.
Candidates for the city positions will file with the city clerk at Ava City Hall, and candidates for school board member will file at the administration office of each respective school district.
Filing begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday and continues through Jan. 20 at 5 p.m.
