CBCO Blood Drive Tuesday, Dec. 16 At Ava High School

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and the Ava High School FFA Chapter will host a community blood drive on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Donors will be received at the Ava Performing Arts Center (APAC) between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The APAC is located on North Jefferson Street, just north of the Ava High School gymnasium.
When you donate during the Miracle of Giving Blood Drive, Dec. 8-Jan. 4, you will receive a 50 percent bonus on LifePoints. LifePoints is CBCO’s donor rewards program that lets you trade your points for great gift cards, wearables or donations to other area not-for-profit organizations.
CBCO has issued a Code Yellow Alert for all negative blood types at this visit. There is currently less than a two-day supply of these blood types on hospital shelves and donations are needed immediately.
Donors to Community Blood Center of the Ozarks provide all of the blood for patients at 37 area hospitals. On average, every five minutes a transfusion takes place. It takes around 250 donations each day to meet the area’s blood needs.
To be eligible to give blood, you must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, and present a valid photo ID.
