Ava Saddle Club Presents Awards At Series Final Fun Show Aug. 9

The Ava Saddle Club’s final Saddle Series Fun Show of the year was held on Aug. 9.
The year-end high point prizes were awarded after the show, including saddles, cash, head stalls, breast collars and halters.
The year-end placings were as follows:
Saddle Club-PeeWeePee Wee Division
1st–Hailey Searcy and Freckles; 2nd–Lauren King and Star; 3rd–Taylor Long and Appy.
Saddle Club-YouthYouth Division
1st–Jessica Stafford and Q-Ball; 2nd–Dylan King and Cowboy; 3rd–Shiloh Searcy and Pilgrim; 4th–Karson Vance and Cash; and 5th–Hannah Stafford and Bailey.
Saddle Club-AdultAdult Division
1st–Laurie Hendrickson and Opal; 2nd–Kendra Brittain and Crome; 3rd–Yvonne Carpenter and Redemption; and 4th–Robin Deck and Cajee Sheik.
Saddle Club-ParticipationParticipation awards went to Jaron Van Houden and Daisy; Ann Marie Wright and Samara; Kelsey Dietz and Lacey; and Erica Robertson and Pokey.
There are still several events planned at the Ava Saddle Club. Up next is the TriCounty Youth Show on Saturday, Aug. 16. This is an all-breed show. Contact Steve Adams at 796-2766 for more information.
On Aug. 23, the Ava Saddle Club will host  a Show-Me Ranch Horse Association Ranch Versatility Show. The classes include ranch cutting, working cow, trail, ranch pleasure and reining.
Added is a Lil’ Wranglers lead line class for kids 7 and under. The class can be done lead line style or you can let your little wranglers ride by themselves and you can walk along with them. You can call 683-0391 for more information.
There will be another ranch sorting practice on Saturday night after the show. Call 988-1111 for more information on that.
Ava Saddle Club will host an OHBA, BBR sanctioned barrel show on Sept. 13, and the annual Charity Show will be held on Sept. 20. On Oct. 11, the Saddle Club will host a Ranch Rodeo, which is always fun to watch.
The next monthly meeting of the Ava Saddle Club will be held on Monday, Sept. 8, due to the Labor Day holiday. The meeting will start at 7:30 at the club grounds on Highway 14, 1/2 mile west of the intersection of Highways 5 and 14 in Ava. This saddle club is very active and your participation is welcome. If there are events you would like to see offered, come out and join the group to help make it an even better saddle club.
