Delaney Sweeney Graduates from Drury University

Delaney Sweeney, of  Souder, Mo., received a bachelor of science from Drury University at commencement on May 17, 2014.
Sweeney graduated with a major in  biology, with minors in chemistry and global studies. While at Drury,  she was an active member and officer of ZETA sorority, TriBeta Honor Society, Gamma Sigma Alpha Greek Academic Honor Society, varsity cheerleading, Children’s Miracle  Network Drury Danceathon and actively volunteering with 4H, Girl Scouts and the Humane Society. Sweeney maintained a position on the Dean’s List as well as receiving numerous community service awards.
Her  plans for the future include completing a criminalist internship at the MSHP crime lab, assisting with the management of the Ava City Pool, and volunteering with  Drury youth programs. Delaney will continue her education this fall at St. George University where she has been accepted into the dual degree program of DVM and MSc, with an emphasis in marine medicine. Delaney will also continue her work and research on the diseases of coral reefs, in collaboration with Dr. Caroll of  Drury University.
Sweeney graduated from Ava High School in 2010 and is the daughter of Sean and Cleta Sweeney.
