Ilo Clow, 97

Ilo Clow, 97 years, 3 months, and 17 days old, passed to heaven on June 10, 2014 at Christian Healthcare, Nixa, Mo., with her family by her side.
Ilo was born Feb. 23, 1917 in Wayne County, Iowa to Joseph and Nellie (Arbuckle) Shepard.
Ilo was a resident of Nixa for several years, moving from Ava, Mo.
Ilo and Norman McCarty were united in marriage in Iowa and to this union one daughter, Janet, was born. Norman preceded her in death.
On Aug. 20, 1954, Ilo and Garold “Jerry” Clow were united in marriage in Illinois. Jerry preceded her in death in 1999.
Ilo was a retired housekeeping manager at the Raphael Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. She also had worked at the original Alameda Hotel on the Plaza in K.C. In her early years she had worked at Oscar Mayer Plant in Davenport, Iowa for years. When moving to Ava, Mo., Ilo and “Jerry” worked at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home for a few years before full retirement.
She was a Christian and a member of the Aldergate Methodist Church in Nixa. She enjoyed fellowship in volunteering and serving at the church. Ilo, especially delighted in making the apple pies for the church.
Ilo was a hard worker and loved serving people! She dearly loved her family and friends as they did her. She will be greatly missed, but her love and kindness will live on.
Ilo was preceded by her parents, her husband, Jerry Clow, son-in-law, Gene Crawford, and step-daughter, Betty Holt.
Ilo is survived by one daughter, Janet Crawford, Billings, Mo.; three grandchildren, Tambra Masters, Terry Beavers and Greg Beavers; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie Beavers, Amber Beavers, Jessica Beavers and Reed Beavers; five great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Haliah, Jadah, Carter and Chloe Beavers; a nephew, Rick Shepard; step grandchildren; step great- and step great-great-grandchildren; lifetime friends, Lyle and Florence Clinkingbeard; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Ilo will be Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Clio Cemetery, Clio, Iowa with Pastor Max Carmichael officiating. Public viewing will be Thursday and Friday at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
Memorials may be made to Aldergate Methodist Church in Nixa. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
