Ava Art Guild Announces People’s Choice Winners

"Horse", by Chalice Sleep, was People's Choice winner in the under 18 category at the Ava Art Guild's Spring Show.

The Spring Art Show at the Ava Art Guild was a big success again this year. It is an annual event that is always anticipated by members and the public alike.
There were about 90 entries this year, including everything from pencil drawings, paintings, a wooden truck, a huge metal sculpture and a painted log.
The show ended on Saturday, June 7, and the votes were counted for the People’s Choice awards. Visitors were encouraged to vote for one entry in the adult category and one in the under 18 division. Then at the end of the show the votes are counted and winners were announced.
This year, in the adult category, the winner was Jim Davis with his huge metal sculpture named “Uh Oh.” It is an owl that has a snake in its talons, and a very surprised look on its face. The all metal sculpture is about 6 feet tall.
Jim was also awarded Judge’s Choice for this entry.
The under 18 category had many great entries, and “Horse”, by Chalice Sleep, was chosen by the visitors as the People’s Choice winner. The people’s choice is given a special ribbon and a monetary prize.
