District Baseball Scheduled To Begin Here Saturday

Class 3, District 10 baseball is scheduled to begin here on Saturday and run through Tuesday of next week.
However, due to all the rain this week, there is a chance games could be pushed back a day.
Coach Rex Sawyer, tournament director, said Saturday’s games could be started later in the day, if the rain moves out of the area. If not, the entire bracket could be pushed back to begin on Monday.
Springfield Catholic is the No. 1 seed in the district tournament and has a first-round bye.
Ava is seeded No. 2 and will play Willow Springs (7) at 12 noon.
Play is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with No. 4 Strafford taking on Houston (5).
The battle of the Bears is at noon, with No. 3 Mtn. Grove facing Mtn. View-Liberty at 2 p.m.
Semifinals games are scheduled for 4 and 6 p.m. on Monday, with the championship game set for 6 p.m. Tuesday. Again, this schedule could be altered by the weather.
Fans attending the District Tournament games are reminded that admission, set by the state, is $4 per person and no local or conference passes will be honored.
