Russell Curtis, 68

Russell Curtis, 68 years, passed to heaven on April 25, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Russell was born Dec. 31, 1945 in Rockbridge, Mo., to Lawson C. and Thedith V. (Arnett) Curtis.
Russell was a life long resident of the Ava community.  He was a member of  Souder Church of Christ.
On Oct. 1, 1971, Russell and Linda Lindsey were united in marriage in Garden City, Kan., and he was a beloved father to three children.
Russell was a road grader operator for the county. He was a Vietnam veteran.
Russell enjoyed cutting wood, trapping, fishing and hunting. He liked to travel the roads with his grandkids, Mason and Andy. His children were his pride and joy. Family was, without a doubt, the thing he loved most in life.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and seven sisters.
Russell is survived by two sons, Lawson and wife, Tracie, Ava Mo., and Russell Dean and wife, Kim, of Ava, Mo.; a daughter, Robyn and husband, David, of Ava, Mo.; a sister, Louise Harp, of Aldrich, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Jessica and husband David, Andy, Mason, Whitley, Elizabeth, Tyler, Makenna, Victoria, Steven, and Kenneth; six great-grandchhildren, Olivia, Paxton, Logan, Kynsie, Luke, and Izzy; his loving ex-wife, Linda Curtis; very special friend and mother-in-law Betty Shuller; and many other neices, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Russell were Tuesday, April 29, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Souder Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation was Monday, April 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor E.J. Hampton. Memorials may be made to Souder Cemetery or the Disabled Veterans of America.
