Reba A. Hardcastle Byrd, 90

Reba Alene Hardcastle Byrd, 90, Gladstone, Mo., passed away Dec. 18, 2013 at her home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27 at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, where a visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice.
Reba was born Dec. 18, 1923 in Squires, Mo., and had lived in Kansas City for the past 60 years. During World War II she worked for the Sun Flower Ordinance Plant making rocket powder. Reba was employed for 30 years as a waitress for Kemper Arena, Bretton’s Restaurant and Holiday Inn. For many years she was active in the Camp Fire Girls.  Reba was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert D. Byrd, and a daughter, Kathy Jo Allen.
Survivors include a daughter, Patti Mandina (Andy); two grandchildren, Baldassaro (Amy) Mandina and Margaret Mandina (Kevin); and a great-granddaughter, Anabella Mandina-Ward.
