Lady Bears Beat Rogersville In Home Opener Thursday

Senior Maison Bovard had 14 points and five rebounds to lead the Ava Lady Bears over Rogersville, 45-34, on the home floor last Thursday night.
Bailey Lee added 11 points for Ava. Also scoring were Jacey Swofford 5, Emily Guengerich 4, Shelby Campbell 4, McKenna Hunsaker 3, Callie Eubanks, 2, Bailey Loge 1 and Hope Evans 1.
Ava led the Wildcats 26-16 at halftime, and held a 38-20 lead after three quarters of play.
The Lady Bears played Monday afternoon in the Lebanon Central Bank Holiday Tournament but no result from that game was available as the Herald went to press early due to the Christmas holiday.
With a first-round win over Crocker, the Lady Bears would play the winner of the Dixon-Lebanon game at 1 p.m. Friday.
With a loss, the Lady Bears would play at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Finals will be played on Saturday, with the championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
