Ruby Faye Prine, 91

Ruby Faye Prine, 91, of Yakima, Wash., went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.
Ruby was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Longrun, Mo., the third of 12 children, to William and Nora (Hampton) Simpson.
On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Ovid L. Prine. Their marriage blessed them with a daughter, Linda Faye. In 1952, Ruby, Ovid and Linda moved from Missouri to Yakima, Wash.
Ruby worked at the Del Monte Cannery for 29 years before retiring. She enjoyed many things in her 91 years. She and Ovid traveled many miles in their 5th wheel. She was an excellent cook, loved to crochet and garden. But the greatest joys in her life were her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Victoria. She loved listening to their stories, watching them play or hearing about their activities. Oh, how she would smile when they walked into the room!
Ruby also loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, and asked Him into her heart at a young age. When her family moved to Yakima, they attended the Mead Avenue Gospel Tabernacle where she taught Sunday School for many years and loved every minute of it. Later in life she attended New Generation Church of God. Anyone that knew Ruby knew she was a godly, praying woman, a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who loved God and her family while living out her faith.
Surviving family includes her daughter Linda (Joe) Jackson, granddaughter Tamara Cole, and great-grandchildren Matthew and Victoria Cole; five sisters and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Ovid Prine, grandsons Terry Jackson and Steve Cole, three sisters and three brothers.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 8, in Yakima.  Interment is at West Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ruby’s memory to Riverside Christian School, 721 Keys Road, Yakima.
