Gamma Phi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society met September 14

The Gamma Phi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society met September 14, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Cabool with 26 members in attendance.  The meeting was opened by President Diane Moore with the Pledge of Allegiance.

During the business meeting Elaine Campbell stated that over 80 books had been received this year for the “Born to Read” project.  Members are asked to continue to contribute.

After the business meeting the program was hosted by the Willow Springs members.  Diane Schroeder read a devotional written by Faye Wiersema.  She also read the poem “A Recipe for Friendship” by Julie Thorpe.  LeEtta East, accompanied by Joy Lower, sang.

The guest speaker was Barbara Nyden, from West Plains MSU.  She is an accounting instructor with the study abroad program.  She discussed her teaching situation in China, during 2009.  The Chinese students become students of the West Plains campus and may receive an Associate of Art in Business.
