Lewis Wayne Suits, 73

Lewis Wayne Suits, 73 years, passed to heaven on Sept. 25, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo., with his wife and family by his side.
Lewis was born Sept. 22, 1940 in East Prairie, Mo., to France and Eugenia (Evans) Suits.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam War.
Lewis and Linda Marie Butcher were united in marriage on Aug. 3, 1965 in Lawton, Okla., and to this union six children were born.
Lewis was retired from working over 10 years at Hutchens Steel Co. in Mansfield, Mo. He had also worked at FMC in Indianapolis, Ind.
He was a Christian and of the Pentecostal faith. Lewis was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, playing cards and most importantly, he loved being with his grandchildren and all his family.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven; one brother, Billy; and three sisters, Betty Jo, Vicky and Ann.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Linda Suits, Ava, Mo.; five children and their spouses, Nancy and Chuck McGhehey, Indianapolis, Ind., Gregory Maddle, Cedar Lake, Ind., Warren and Michelle Suits, Crown Point, Ind., Laura and Rob Weddle, Springfield, Mo., and Audra and Paul Weddle, Marshfield, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lewis were held Sept. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in the Denney Cemetery with full military honors by Douglas County American Legion Post #112. Visitation was Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor Mark Hudson. Memorials may be made to Convoy of Hope, 330 S. Patterson, Springfield, MO 65802.
