Douglas Co. Historical Society Meets Sept. 16

The Douglas County Historical and Genealogical Society met Monday, Sept. 16.
Sharon Sanders called meeting to order.  Pat read the minutes and treasurers report.  Both were approved.
Marilyn gave report on Community Betterment meeting.
Andrew will work on eaves at end of month.
Arrowheads are here and will be hung soon.  The Society is still in need of stories for the Winter 2013 Journal.  If anyone has one let Sharon know or bring it by museum.
JD will check with VFW for placement of flag in front of museum on holidays.  Tommy said he would pay cost for first year. Vote was taken and it was approved.
We will be decorating museum for Halloween on the first Saturday of October.  Anyone who would like to help please come by and bring any decorations you would like us to use.  These decorations/haunted house will be open every Saturday in October.
A motion to adjourn was made by JD and seconded by Marilyn. Those attending were JD Ross, Gladys Peak, Sharon Sanders, Marilyn Alms, Sally Hicks, Jack and Barbara Breshears, and Pat Carmichael.  Next meeting will be Oct. 21.  Everyone is welcome to stop by.
