Douglas Co. Health Dept. To Offer Flu Shots Daily Starting October 1

With flu season right around the corner the Douglas County Health Department will begin offering flu shots on a daily basis beginning Oct. 1.
“In years past we have offered one clinic per season so we are pleased to announce we are able to offer flu shots daily (Monday through Friday) this year for our clients’ convenience”, states Administrator Valerie Reese. Pediatric flu shots will also be available this year.
“We are partnering with VAXCARE this year to offer flu shots for $25 per person”, states Reese. You will not be asked to pay the $25 cost if the following apply to you:
• A limited amount of flu vaccine (for Douglas County residents only) has been purchased to provide flu shots to those who are uninsured and cannot afford to pay $25 (while supplies last).
• If you have Medicare part B or a supplement that covers the shot. (please bring insurance cards).
• If you have Medicaid (please bring Medicaid card).
