Ava 4H Club To Meet; Aviation Project Continues

4H.young eaglesThe Ava 4H Club will meet Sept. 12, at the Ava Elementary School, in Mrs. King’s classroom.
The meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will continue with the aviation project. Anyone interested in the aviation project is invited, including non-4H members.
All 4H members from neighboring counties who do not have an aviation project are also invited.
The main topic will be meeting the pilots who are helping with the program, as well as discussion of the upcoming Young Eagles/ Eagles program.
The program, run by the Experimental Aircraft Association in conjunction with the Willow Springs Airport, provides young people and adults with an introductory flight in a private airplane.
All attendees will also receive credit toward ground school and a beginning log book. For members under the age of 18, a parent should attend the meeting also, if at all possible. Parents must fill out a release form by the date of the flight.
Also on the agenda for the meeting is a discussion of upcoming field trips: air shows, control towers, and flight museums. Later this project year, other topics will be experiments, aerospace camps and career/scholar-ship opportunities.
