The noon luncheon meeting of the Ava Area Chamber of Commerce for June was held Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Church. Hosting the event was True Brew coffee shop on the Ava square.
Owner Rachel Koch, who provided an assortment of sandwiches and delicious cookies for the noon meal, discussed some of the promotions she has under way this summer to not only promote her business but also to help organizations in the community.
She also introduced a line of summer fruit “smoothies” that she makes with real fruit and fruit juices.
Judy Shields, executive director of the Ava Area Chamber of Commerce, announced that the new Community Guide is out and available. In fact, everyone attending the meeting received a copy and the information books will be distributed throughout the region.
Judy also mentioned three big patriotic events coming up the weekend prior to the 4th of July, starting with the celebration at Heart of the Ozarks on Friday, June 28, the Squires 4th of July Picnic on Saturday night, July 29, and Celebrate America at Highway Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, June 30.
The July luncheon meeting will be hosted by Douglas County Foundation on July 9.
