Amie Garrison Nelson, 39

June 21, 1973 J.R. and Pam Garrison welcomed their first child, Amie Lynn, into their family at Springfield, Mo. She departed this life from her Springfield, Mo., home March 5, 2013.
Amie was joined by a sister and later a brother as they grew up in the Dogwood community. She was very active at Ava High School in band, flags, and art. She was very talented in art. She had a gift of drawing anything and everything. She enjoyed spending time with friends. Health problems would cause her difficulties most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Eva Garrison and Leonard Gray, and a son, Jessie Levan.
Amie is survived by her parents, J.R. and Pam Garrison; her daughter and husband, Courtney Johns and Ethen; and two sons, Tobie Merriett and Kacey Merriett. She is also survived by her grandparents, Joe and Wilma Weter and one sister and her husband, Tracy Hart and Robert; and one brother, Travis Garrison, as well as a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services for Amie were conducted in the Ava Family Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday, March 8. Burial followed in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.
The family would appreciate donations to the American Diabetes Association in Amie’s name.
