Spring is quickly arriving and with the season comes many activities for Ava High School students. One major event is prom.
Year after year, the cost for hosting the event continues to increase. As a result, more fundraising is needed.
This year, the Ava High School Junior Class will be hosting the first annual Spring Fling Craft & Vendor Fair in an effort to offset some of these costs. The event will be held Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Ava High School gymnasium.
“We are hoping this community event will benefit the vendors and the students, “commented Janell Stewart, a junior class sponsor. More vendors are signing up daily and the class is hoping to have at least 20 different booths. Vendors will have cash and carry items as well as items to order. With Easter and Mother’s Day coming soon, the event will provide the community an opportunity to shop for items locally.
There are still vendor spaces available starting at $30 for a 12 ft. x 12 ft. space. “The more vendors we have, the more successful the event will be,” explains Chelsey Gilmore, co-sponsor for the junior class.
The class plans to raise funds through booth rental, drawings, concessions, and donations. If you are interested in being a vendor, please contact Chelsey Gilmore at (417) 683-5747 or [email protected] avabears.net.
There is no admission cost and everyone is welcome to come out and shop from local vendors and crafters while supporting a great cause.
