Gerald Wright, 86

Gerald  Wright, 86 years, passed away on Dec. 30, 2012 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo.
Gerald was born April 28, 1926 in Douglas County, Mo. to Austin and Eva (Howard) Wright.
Gerald lived most of his life in Douglas County. Growing up he enjoyed working on the family farm. He had also worked as a mechanic with the U.S. Defense in Wichita, Kan., and the shipyards in Richmond, Calif.
He was a member of the Happy Home Church in Ava. He enjoyed drawing, mechanic work and his main joy was picking his guitar and singing.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Irene Epps, Laverne Owen and Norma Lambert and one brother, Leo Wright.
Gerald is survived by one sister, Josephine Peebles, Ava, Mo.; brother-in-law, Adrain Owen, Ava, Mo.; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Gerald were Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 2 p.m at the Goodhope Cemetery, Ava, Mo. Officiating was Pastor Lyle Wright. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
