T.O.P.S.

During the December 3rd meeting we had 11 weigh-in with a loss of 5.5 lbs. Evelyn was high loser. Sue stayed the same.

T.O.P.S. lesson was on modifying holiday recipes with healthy substitues from high fat to low fat ingredients.

The holiday party is at Krazy Daze after the meeting on December 18 at 4 p.m. with $5.00 gift exchange.

T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit, international weight loss support group open to anyone seven years of age or older. The MO #0720 chapter meets every Tuesday from 3p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the basement of the courthouse, Come visit us and sit in on a meeting, if you would like to find out more about T.O.P.S. Pumpkin soup is 35 calories when made with fat-free skimmed milk and no butter.

A good way to quick start the metabolism is by watching how food is processed, eating a healthy breakfast and stop evening slumps.

Eat a banana, flip upside down, let your arms dangle and slowly stand up, sip green tea, pinch your checks. One cup of blueberries or strawberries is a great source of Vitamin C. Have fat at breakfast. Corn tortillas are better than flour. Use greek yogurt versus hummus and soy sauce versus cumin. A person burns 200 calories with every 60 minutes of shopping, 100 calories for 45 minutes of talking on the phone. Drink two 8 ozs. glass of ice water. Eat whole grains and fresh or frozen vegetables, 5 to 7 ozs. of protein a day, seafood two times a week and have an egg.

The December 18th meeting was our Christmas Party. We weighed in and then dismissed to meet at Krazy Daze Restaurant for a gift exchange and dinner.

For the next two meetings we will be meeting on Wednesdays, December 26 and January 2nd respectively.
