Lost & Found Grief Center offers therapeutic support groups, at no charge, for children grieving the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. Participation in peer grief support groups prevents many potential long-term problems, such as depression, substance abuse, and family conflict. At Lost & Found both children and adults learn to work through their grief and focus on the happy memories of their loved one as they work to find their “new normal.” Currently, more than 250 children and adults from a 16-county area are enrolled in19 grief groups that meet twice a month.
In April a new group of young professionals came together to form the Lost & Found Young Ambassador’s Council. They immediately began planning their signature event, Game Day “We are excited and thankful for the Young Ambassador’s passion for the mission of Lost & Found and their role in bringing awareness of the needs of grieving families in the Ozarks.” said Karen Scott, Executive Director of Lost & Found Grief Center.
