Homecoming Week is under way Sept. 24-28, with the Homecoming football game on Friday night.  The theme for Homecoming is “Game On!”
Theme days include:
Monday – Gear Up!  Students wear the jerseys of their favorite players or represent their favorite team.
Tuesday – Fake Injury Day.
Wednesday – Family Game Night – Students dress as a character from their favorite card game or board game.
Thursday – Video Gamers of the Past and Present!  Students will dress as one of their favorite game characters from modern or classic video games.
Friday – Blue and Gold Day, Pep Assembly, and Homecoming Parade.
Saturday Night – Homecoming Dance – 8-11 p.m.
This year, the students have requested to have the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night instead of after the game so they would have more time.
Pep Club has extended an invitation to middle school and elementary school to create floats for the parade Friday afternoon. Merchants are asked to close their store for a few minutes Friday and step outside to watch as the parade goes by, and the public is invited to come cheer the students on as the pass. The parade will make its way from the back of the high school, past the middle school and elementary school, then down Jefferson Street to the square.
Homecoming queen candidates are Cori Dry, Christina Shortt and Morgan Towell. King candidates are Kyle Clinkingbeard, Kolton Davis and Dakota Renner.
Coronation will be at halftime of the Ava-Houston football game.
