Otto ‘Buster’ Vinson, 86

Otto ”Buster” Vinson, 86, of Columbia, and formerly of West Plains, Mo., passed away Sept. 8, 2012 at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital.
Private services were held in Ava, Mo., on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012. Interment was in Ava Cemetery under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava.
Otto was born March 15, 1926 in Douglas County, Mo., to J.W. and Alta (Love) Vinson. He married Ruth Jackson on Jan. 30, 1944. She preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2007. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing pinochle. Otto really enjoyed Cardinal baseball.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Otto is survived by one son, Alan Vinson and his wife, Marilyn, of Columbia; one daughter, Jacque Julian and her husband, Eric, of Manitou Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
