Bears in the County

This momma bear and two cubs created considerable excitement when they decided to take refuge in a tree outside of Ava Wednesday night. A large crowd gathered  Wednesday evening to see the animals, and surprisingly enough, they stayed around Thursday morning for more onlookers. Before noon Thursday, Momma and one cub had come down and restlessly waited for the other cub to make his way down. Missouri Department of Conservation personnel encouraged folks to move away from the area and let the wild animals resume their normal activities.
