Ambulance Board Will Meet Monday

The board of directors of the Ava Area Ambulance District will meet Monday, July 30, at 6:30 p.m., at the Ambulance Station on NW 9th St.

Included with this meeting will be the annual tax levy hearing.

The board is required to hold a levy hearing before the property tax rate can be set for the coming year. The ambulance levy has been set at zero since the sales tax measure was passed by voters in 2005. No change is anticipated in that tax rate.

Also on the agenda for this meeting of the Ambulance District board is the purchase of a new ambulance to replace one of the older units that has had numerous mechanical problems during the past year.

The board will be considering a new style Sprinter vehicle that is more efficient to operate and also provides greater safety for both the patient and the medical worker.
