Ava FFA Hosts June Blood Drive
On June 13 the Ava FFA Chapter hosted a blood drive sponsored by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks
The blood drive was held at Ava High School in the Performing Arts Center.
All the blood collected by the CBCO stays locals and supports 38 hospitals in southern Missouri, northwest Arkansas and southeast Kansas. All blood and blood products transfused to patients in these hospitals come from donors like you.
CBCO says it takes more than 275 blood donations each day to meet the needs of patients in the area hospitals that are supplied by CBCO.
Unfortunately, while 60 percent of the population is eligible to give blood, only five percent choose to do so. Someone in the Ozarks needs blood every five minutes.
Out of the 66 donors, 57 good units were collected. Those giving blood were: Brittney Dixon, Maynard Wallace, Katie Hicks, Ashton Davis, Burrell Loftin, Archie Daily, Christina Sanchez, Tim Scrivner, Steve Davis, Darian Bushong, Keith Moore, Sydney Miller, Donna Hall, Kara Robertson, Levi Davison, Alvin Stone, Lynn Wilkes, Taylor Ganzer, Amanda Greene, Crystal Johnson, Diana Swearengin, William Loftin, Theresa Lee.
Seth Shots, Katie Balassone, Ray Reynolds, Cynthia Ingram, Chris Cox, Anita Dodd, Jerri Schmoll, David Frohman, Ronnie Bloomer, Sharon Skaggs, Robert Allsup, Connie Allsup, Brent Lakey, Jeanne Scrivner, Sally Dickenson, Randy Kauffman, Tiffany Kauffman, Linda Howie Wilson, Patsy Moore, Kim Waskom, Kim Rowland, Janice Rawlings, Deevala Rawlings, Mary Bellman, Ashley Riggs, Amy Sowders, Courtney Mings, Joe Henry, Amy Gillespie, Ulla Farrow, Bobby Rossita, Ryan Breshears, Nick Helm, Mary Sayre, David Sayre, Lacey Tucker, Kevin Dougherty, Cassie Tate, Tom Imhoff, Kendra Etenburn, Michael Dixon, Linda Ferguson and Leon Potter.
Ava FFA’s goal for their six blood drives is to collect enough blood to fulfill their need for at least two days, and appreciates all who came last week as donors.
The next blood drive will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 11:30 am to 5:30 p.m. in the Ava High School Performing Arts Center.
