Minnie Mable Snoddy, 103
Minnie Mable (Reed) Hutchison Snoddy, 103 years, passed to heaven on June 1, 2012 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo., with her family by her side.
Minnie was born March 19, 1909 in Vera Cruz, Mo., to John William and Sarah Francis (Kelton) Reed.
Minnie was a lifelong resident of Douglas County, Mo.
Minnie married George Hutchison on Dec. 21, 1926 and to this union six sons were born. On Oct. 23, 1956, Minnie and Jack Snoddy were united in marriage.
She was a member of the Coldsprings Baptist Church, but had attended area churches including Evansdale Community Church, Brushyknob Church, Basher Church, The Rock Church, and Assembly of God. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing for churches.
As a young girl, she went with her father, playing the piano to his fiddle at churches, pie suppers and barn dances. She also enjoyed cooking for the entire family and delighted in Friday night Taco Night! Minnie loved and adored her family. Her faith was strong and was a witness to her friends and family. Her talks with God were “mostly done in her favorite spot on her farm in the pine thicket.”
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Snoddy, two sons, Branford and Lee Fay Hutchison; a granddaughter, Seri Ann Hutchison; three grandsons, Mark, Larry, and Gary Hutchison; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Sue Hutchison; four brothers, Lewis, William Delany, Hanford and Woodrow Reed; and two sisters, Leona Page and Ida Dobbs; and a special niece, Tessie Graham.
Minnie is survived by four children and their spouses, Bernie and Lena Hutchison, Ava, Mo., L. Wilburn and Louise Hutchison and Ransell and Judy Hutchison, all of Norwood, Mo. and Manuel and Sue Hutchison, Lost Nation, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Minnie were Tuesday, June 5, at 2 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo. Visitation was Tuesday from 1 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor Bobby Page.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Evansdale Cemetery. A private burial will be at a later date and time in the Evansdale Cemetery.
