Imogene Kane, 85
Minerva Imogene “Gene” Wengler Kirschbaum Kane, 85, of Live Oak, Fla., beloved wife, mother, granny, and great-granny went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2012.
She was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., to Elmer and Nora Wengler. She was the eldest of two children. She grew up in the Elmwood Park neighborhood in Chicago and graduated from Steinmetz High School. She married Roland R. Kane on July 23, 1955.
She belonged to a dance troop which was one of her greatest loves and in later years she got involved in Civil War reenactments, where she enjoyed making uniforms, ball gowns and attending the balls.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Roland R. Kane; children Jack (Judy) Kane of California, Mike (Janet) Kane of Texas, Dean (Rhonda) Kane of Kansas, Gail Gray (Thomas) of Mississippi, Mary Gerhauser (Tom), and Lisa (Mike) Guenther of Florida; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kane was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marcine Mankunas.
