Ava Woman Hurt In Ozark County Wreck Tuesday

An 81-year-old Ava woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon in Ozark County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Joan E. Small failed to negotiate a curve on Route JJ and ran off the roadway.

The southbound 2004 Dodge Stratus struck a ditch, a tree and a fence, and came to rest in a culvert.

The driver was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield with serious injuries.

The wreck occurred at 1:45 p.m. at Ozark County Road 945.
