Douglas County Museum
We invite you to come by and see the pump organ donated by the Margaret Kottmeier Brill family. Do you remember the Duck-In Barber Shop on the northwest corner of the square? Did you ever get a shoe shine there? If so, we have the chair you sat in.
People from away from here say we have a really nice museum and are surprised at all the things we have The museum is the former home of Henry and Belle Wilson located two blocks east of the square on highway 14. The house was built in 1882 and was a prominent home in the city in its day.
If we can assist you with your family history, we would be happy to have you drop by Wednesday through Saturday from 10-2.
I went to the museum where they had all the heads and arms from the statues that are in all the other museums!
One time I went to a museum where all the art work in the museum had been done by children. They had all the paintings up on refrigerators!
Sherlock Holmes and Watson go to a rock museum. They walk around for a while when Watson notices that there is a rock that doesn’t have a display name. “What kind of rock is that?” he asked Sherlock. “Sedimentary, my dear Watson!”
Stay tuned for more.
