Highway 76 Bridge Over Bryant Creek To Be Replaced Beginning June 11; Other Bridge Work Planned in County

Work to replace the Route 76 bridge over Bryant Creek in Douglas County is expected to begin Monday, June 11, weather permitting. The bridge is located nine miles east of Ava.
As construction is under way, the roadway will remain closed from County Road 76-216 to County Road 76-126. Completion is anticipated in early August.
Improvements to the bridge will be completed as part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. The program was designed to repair or replace over 800 of the state’s lowest-rated bridges in five years. Currently, 716 bridges have been completed, and the program is on track to be completed this fall-over one year ahead of schedule.
Signs and warning devices will be in place. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
Route A in Douglas County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as the Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge deck maintenance.
The bridge over Spring Creek is located between County Road A408 and County Road A409.
Weather permitting, the 10-foot restriction will begin Tuesday, May 29 at 7 a.m. and will be completed by 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 7.
MoDOT has also announced that the Beaver Creek Bridge on West Highway 76 will be closed May 30 and 31 for maintenance.
These work zone will be marked with signs.  Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
