Ava Kiwanis Club News
Rick Baker and Donna Dixon assisted at Skyline on April 25 for a “Go Blue–Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention” activity.
On Thursday, High School Principal Teresa Nash joined us for our last “Citizens of the Month” presentation of this school year. Congratulations to all the students who have received the award this year!
On Monday, Glenda, Donna and Rick represented our club at Skyline School again for a Terrific Kids Assembly. We have one more presentation to do this school year which will be at Ava Elementary at 2:30 on May 7.
Since Sonshine Cafe is now closed, our meetings will be moved to Subway, but still held at noon on Thursdays. Come join us! At this week’s meeting, we will be hosting some “Kiwanis brass” from Harrison, Ark. Troy Massey and Dale Garner will be with us to talk about the Earl Collins Scholarship, which is our district scholarship.
On Friday, Glenda and Donna will go to Mountain Home, Ark., to attend a leadership meeting on Saturday.
A new date has been set to plant flowers in the park–Tuesday, May 8 at 6 p.m. Member Denise Reese has offered to keep them watered, but the real work is planting them and we need to get the in the ground as soon as possible.
If you have an interesting program to present, contact Donna Dixon to schedule a date at 683-1918. For all other questions about our club, call Glenda Little at 683-6167.
Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook. Rick Baker has been working on our page and has a lot of new pictures and some new information up. Just put Ava Kiwanis in the search box and like our page.
