Dareth Athol Raymer, 82

Dareth Athol Raymer, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 in Noland Hospital at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 82.
Memorial services for Mr. Raymer will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Cloverdale United Methodist Church in Alabama, with the Rev. Mark Lily officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Raymer was born June 15, 1929 in Carter County, Mo. He joined the United States Army and was part of the 187th Regimental Combat team, Paratroopers and military police. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Raymer joined the Metro Dade Police Department and retired from the result of a traffic accident. He and his wife raised Paso Fino and Arabian horses and travelled the country. Mr. Raymer was a member of the Blue Lodge Masons, Scottish Rite, York Rite, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Order of Eastern Star, Sons of the American Revolution and Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Mickey Raymer, Dothan, Ala.; daughter, Leslie and her husband, Claude Gonzalez, Athens, Ga.; three sons, Derek A. and his wife, Victoria Raymer, St. Petersburg, Fla., Larry and his wife, Elif Raymer, Carthage, Mo., James and his wife, Marsha Schuckles, of Oregon; six grandchildren, Isabella Gonzalez, Ashton, Sophia and Cole Raymer, Christine Star, Matthew and his wife, Tracy Raymer; a brother, Denver Raymer and his wife, Dee, Ellsinore, Mo.
