Local Democrats Put Support Behind Obama

The Douglas County Democratic mass meeting was held Thursday, March 29, at the Douglas County Courthouse at 7:30 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Teresa Tost, chair of the Douglas County Democrat Party, and followed the procedures for electing a meeting chair, delegates and alternates for the 8th Congressional District Convention on April 26, and the State Democratic Convention June 9.

Those elected as delegates were Teresa Tost and Jerry Shepherd; alternates elected are Ulla Farrow and Gene Cherry.

The Douglas County Democratic Party pledged its support to President Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.

Local Democrats are reminded that the next monthly meeting will be held today (April 5) at 5:30 p.m., at Larkin’s Restaurant in Ava. Everyone is welcome.
