Pickup Stolen, Burned Wednesday Morning
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department reported Wednesday morning that a pickup belonging to Kirk Clinkingbeard, of Ava, was stolen and burned during the night. Deputy Vernon Johnson said authorities were advised of the incident around 2 a.m. Wednesday. The pickup was stolen from the Clinkingbeard residence east of Ava and driven to Crystal Lake Fisheries. The truck was rammed into the front of the Emerson home and set on fire. The suspects then ran off. Family members hooked onto the burning truck and pulled it away from the structure before the house caught fire.
