Municipal, School Elections Will Be Held Tuesday
Next Tuesday, April 3, is municipal and school election day across the state. But in Douglas County, there are few ballot issues to be decided.
In the City of Ava, voters will elect two members to the City Council. In the East Ward of the city incumbent Ric Engelhardt is being challenged by Bonnie Evans. In the West Ward of the city, David Norman is running unopposed for the seat currently held by Judy Lovan.
In the Skyline R-2 School District, voters are asked to elect two board members but only one candidate, Wes Woods, filed before the deadline. The second position may be filled by write-in vote.
In Ava R-1 and Plainview R-8 School Districts, no election will be held because only the necessary number of people needed to fill the positions filed as candidates. The same is true in the Ava Area Ambulance District.
Voters in Ava will cast their ballots at the Ava Community Center (East Ward) and the Douglas County Public Library (West Ward). Skyline voters will cast their ballots at the Skyline School.
Polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
