Danny Givans Announces Candidacy For County Commissioner District 2

I, Danny Givans, would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the position of District 2 Commissioner of Douglas County. I am a life long resident of Douglas County and know first hand what it takes to make things work. I have owned and operated Givans Garage for the past 38 years and I understand what it takes to please customers, meet a payroll, and to survive when times are good or bad. Also, we run a cow/calf beef operation. These responsibilities, in my opinion, have given me the experience in managing budgets, employees, and emergencies as they come.
My wife, Connie, and I have two daughters and one son, all of whom graduated from Ava High School. Our five grandchildren have also attended Ava Schools and are residents of Douglas County.
From an early age I was taught the value of hard work and honesty. These are two important values that I offer to bring to the office of Commissioner. I believe one of the most important aspects of the commissioner’s office is to listen to what the constituents are saying and then respond to the citizens of Douglas County.
I understand that the people of Douglas County not only want to be heard, but they want their words turned into action. This will not be an easy task considering the large number of needed improvements coupled with recent budget cuts. But, I feel with my experience and perseverance at keeping the doors open on a business through some pretty lean times, you can trust me to do my very best.
I want to ask for your vote and support in the upcoming August election. I am looking forward to having the honor of serving the people of Douglas County.
