Ava R-l Preschool Enrollment Is April 12

The Ava R-l School District will be holding a Preschool Enrollment day on Thursday, April 12 in the Performing Arts Center. This enrollment is for children who will turn 3 or 4 before Aug. 1, 2012.

Enrollment packets may be picked up at the elementary office prior to enrollment day. Packets should be completed before you come for your appointment.

Children do not need to attend the enrollment; this is not a screening.

Parents must provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, health insurance, Social Security number, proof of residency and court papers, if applicable. Paperwork must be completed before application is considered.

Ava has two Preschools. Half-day Preschool is free to families except for a snack each day. Full-day Preschool charges $9 per day if the family does not qualify for free and reduced lunches. If the family qualifies, a reduced rate of $7 or $5 per day will be charged. Lunch is not included in that price.

If a child qualifies for Headstart services, they cannot attend Ava Preschools. This allows more children to receive services prior to entering kindergarten.
