Woman Arrested For Drug Activity Near School

Ava Police, with assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, obtained and served a search warrant on March 9 which led to the arrest of an Ava woman.
Ava Police Chief Reggie Johnson said Cheryl A. Holloway, 49, was arrested for distribution near a school and government assisted housing. She is currently being held on $60, 000 bond.
Police Lieutenant Trent Murray said police acted on a tip and used an officer working under cover to make the controlled purchase on March 8. The purchase allowed officers to obtain a search warrant which was served the following day.
Various items identified as controlled substances were confiscated, along with other drug paraphernalia.
Police Chief Johnson said the arrest was made possible by all departments working well together.
