Citizens of the Month For February Are Recognized at Ava High School

Citizens of the month for February were recognized last week by Ava High School and Ava Kiwanis Club.
February’s character word was Patience, and the Citizens of the Month are Kyle Kilgore and Ivie Macy.
Kyle Kilgore, 10th grader at Ava High School and son of Glenda Taylor, was chosen as representing Character Word of the Month, Patience, for February.
His teachers say, “He works from bell to bell and never takes time off until the work is finished.”
After high school, Kyle plans to go to Bryan College and go into the computer technology field, then get a job as a computer tech or a video game designer.
Ivie Macy, freshman at Ava High School, was also chosen for February’s Citizen of the Month.  She is the daughter of Jason Macy and Laurie Macy.
She is involved in FFA, 4-H (president), JDRF Youth Ambassador, and Quiz Bowl.  Ivie was nominated because she, “is very calm, understanding and patient, especially working with younger kids in 4-H,” said her teachers.
After high school, she plans to attend college and become a nurse in the field of Pediatric Endocrinology.
