Youth Competes In Pageant, Program To Be Televised

Samantha Keyes, age 7, daughter of James and Amy Keyes of Ava, and granddaughter of Glenda Jones, owner of P.G.’s Grocery, recently participated in a Toddlers & Tiaras Pageant held in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on Saturday, Feb. 4.

Competing in the 7-8 year-old age group, Samantha won the following divisions: Most Beautiful, Best Smile, Best Denim Wear, Best Glitz Photo, Best Natural Photo (by Dana Dry, of Ava), and Best Composition Photo (by The Photo Shoot, of Ava).   She also won the highest recognition by receiving the title of Ultimate Grand Supreme.

Along with division titles, she was awarded a $500 savings bond, a flat screen television, 6-ft. trophy, a banner and crown.

Samantha was one of three featured contestants filmed prior to pageant day and highlighted during the contest.

According to family, the episode will air this summer.
