Wanda Fern Maggard, 74

Wanda Fern Maggard, 74 years, passed to heaven on Jan. 12, 2012 at her home with her family by her side.

Wanda was born May 3, 1937 in Keltner, Mo., to George and Laura (Pruiett) Thompson.

Wanda lived most of her life in the Bradleyville community.

On Jan. 8, 1959 Wanda and Rex Maggard were united in marriage in Brownbranch, Mo.

Wanda was a Christian and loved attending church with her family. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She worked hard all her life. Wanda was a farmer and had also worked in a restaurant. She enjoyed singing with Rex, cooking, working puzzles, taking care of her goats and other animals. Her joy was spending time with her family and friends and most of all helping those in need.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rex in 2006, one sister, Faye Maggard, three brothers, Ray, Carl and Wayne Thompson.

Wanda is survived by a daughter, Audrey Maggard of the home in Bradleyville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Florence and Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail and Savannah Kay; one sister, Neva Sowards, and one brother and wife, Don and Virginia Thompson, all of Sparta, Mo.; Donnie and Brenda Cummings and their children, Freddie, Landon and Kayla; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Wanda will be Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in the Patterson Cemetery at Bradleyville.

Visitation was Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor Terry Bennett and Pastor James Orick. Memorials may be made to Patterson Cemetery.
