Friday the 13th Is Good to Ava JV

Ava traveled to Salem to play on Friday the 13th and won 45-27.

The scoring was led by Dexter Fish with nine points, followed by Jesse Dean and Brandon Guengerich, eight apiece, Seth Dobbs, six points, Cooper Emerich, Jordan Dimirsky and Tyler Cox, four points each, and Phillip Eubanks with two points.

The JV Bears held Salem scoreless in the first quarter, and the Tigers only scored six points in the first half.

“The JV is a tough team to play right now, because our defense is playing very well and everyone is scoring,” Coach Justin Gilmore said.  “We aren’t very tall, but Jesse Dean and Dexter Fish have been playing very good post defense.  Our guards have been able to put a lot of pressure on the ball and play great help defense, which has been the key to our success.”
