Ava JV Beats Tall Reeds Spring Five Tuesday Night

Ava made the trip to Reeds Spring on Tuesday and improved their record to 8-2.  The scoring was led by Cooper Emerich and Dexter Fish with 11 points apiece. Rounding out the scoring for Ava were Phillip Eubanks 9, Brandon Guengerich 8, Tristan Haltom 7, and Austin Giorgianni 1.

The JV played well against a very good and tall Reeds Spring team.

Coach Justin Gilmore said, “Our defense kept us in the game once again, and Cooper Emerich’s clutch free throws in the final minutes recaptured the lead for good.”

Eubanks held one of Reeds Spring’s best players to only two points in the second half, and  Tristan Haltom played some big minutes and helped the Bears score in the paint against their 2-3 zone.

“Dexter Fish continues to play great post defense and score when given opportunities in the post,” Gilmore said. “The JV has been playing very well together and picking each other up on offense and defense.”
