Ava Bowlers Win Checks In State Seniors Competition

Bowlers representing the Ava USBC WBA won prize checks in the Missouri State USBC Senior Women’s Doubles & Singles tournament held in October in Liberty, Mo.
Representing Ava were Fontella Wilke, Sharyn Jones, Denny Dorsten, Kathryn Bockelman, Connie Bacorn, Connie Sherrill, and Joyce Gidney.
Sharyn Jones was presented an engraved pin for her first place finish in Division 5 Singles.  Making the presentation was Kathryn Bockelman, Ava USBC WBA president, and Connie Bacorn, Missouri State USBC Association manager.
Doubles winners were:
Connie Bacorn and Connie Sherrill, 10th place; Fontella Wilke and Sharyn Jones, 13th place; Denny Dorsten and Joyce Gidney, 14th place.
Singles winners were:
Div. 4, Fontella Wilke, 5th place; Div. 5, Sharyn Jones, 1st place; Div 5, Kathryn Bockelman, 3rd place.
All Events winners were:
Div. 4, Fontella Wilke, 4th place; and Div. 5, Sharyn Jones, 3rd place.
